Man sought on Canada-wide warrant

A 36-year-old man is wanted under a Canada-wide warrant after police report he breached the conditions of his statuatory release.

Saint John Police issued a media release Tuesday asking for the public’s assistance in locating Shane Schrader.

Schrader failed to report to the Community Correctional Centre in Saint John as directed, police stated in the release.

Schrader is described as 5’6, 163 lbs with red hair, and hazel eyes. He has the tattoos ‘902’ and ‘LOVE’ on his left hand and a dragon on his right shoulder.

Schrader is  serving a six-year, 11-month and nine-day sentence for convictions of assault causing bodily harm, two counts of careless use/storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm/prohibited or restricted weapon at an unauthorized place, unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited or restricted weapon in a motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon, mischief in relation to other property and discharging a firearm reckless life/safety.

Police are warning the public to not approach Schrader. Anyone with information is asked to contact Saint John Police Force at 1-506-648-3333, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or 1-800-222-T.I.P.S.
