A man Saint John Police had asked for assistance in locating earlier this month has been arrested, police report.

A Monday news release from Saint John Police said the 33-year-old man who was the subject of a Canada-wide warrant had been arrested last week in Moncton and remains in custody.

Police had, initially, asked for the public’s assistance in early March noting the man had been released from an institution in Quebec but failed to report to a community correctional centre in Saint John on March 6.

The man had been serving a four-and-a-half year sentence for discharging a restricted/prohibited firearm with intent and possessing a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.
