Police make arrest in arson investigation

The Saint John Police Major Crime unit has arrested a 45-year-old woman in connection to an arson that took place in the 100-Block of Saint John Street in January.
Police said in a media release Thursday that emergency crews responded to a fire on Thursday, Jan. 4, at about 2:09 a.m. The Saint John Fire Department extinguished the fire, but the building sustained significant damage, the release said.
Saint John Police Major Crime and Forensic Services began an investigation of the fire, which led to the arrest of a woman on Jan. 16. She is scheduled to appear in court on April 4, the release said.
