Mill Town Roasters announced in a video on its Facebook page it plans to take over the neighbouring space in the King Street building in which it operates, formally Bulgogi, a Korean restaurant.

That’ll give the cafe the entire first floor of the building.

“We will essentially be doubling our capacity,” Mill Town owner Katie Martens said in an email. ” The shop beside us is almost identical in structure/size to our current location. We’ve been dreaming of the potential of taking over the space next door to us since we first opened back in 2019, so when the opportunity presented itself, it was hard for us to say no.”

Martens didn’t give an exact date for the opening of the space to patrons, but expects it to be ready early this summer.

Mill Town first opened its doors back in 2019 as an expansion to Coffee Mill, just a few months before the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the shop will be celebrating its five-year anniversary.

The Coffee Mill brand has three locations in the Fredericton area with one downtown, one uptown, and the one on the north side.

“We are always looking for ways to better service our community, offer more, create a more enjoyable atmosphere and to improve overall service,” Martens said. “Our five-year growth can only be credited to our amazing staff and to the wonderful people of Fredericton. We cannot wait to show you what we have in store.”
