This year’s expo runs from April 26-28 at the Capital Exhibit Centre and will include live music, a pin-up contest, tattoo contests, and vendors.

Expo organizer Brent Buchanan, who owns Main Street Tattoo Company, said the event is open to anyone regardless of their interest or experience in getting inked.

“You can come and watch people get tattooed, get your first tattoo, and add to your collection,” he said. “Hopefully lots of people will come check it out and have some fun.”

The expo was launched by Buchanan in 2018 and took a two-year hiatus during the pandemic. Buchanan said it’s been growing every year, with 110 artists participating this year and last year. Crowd sizes have also increased.

“We can’t really squeeze any more artists in. It’s completely sold out and booked,” he said. “A lot of artists come just to see and meet other tattoo artists. It’s a great place for them to meet up where they likely haven’t seen each other for a year.”
