The Bay Breakfast has been brought back thanks to the planning of co-action, a youth group consisting of students from both Bathurst High School and École secondaire Népisiguit, Magalie Lanteigne Breau and Elsa Godin told Bathurst city council during the regular public meeting April 2.

“It’s a tradition that stopped in 2018 due to lack of time by the old organizers and co-action decided to take it under our wing and give back to our schools,” Lanteigne Breau said.

Sixteen restaurants across the region will participate this year, serving breakfasts with the help of students and school volunteers, for the fundraiser at a cost of $10 per plate. Of the cost, five dollars will go to the restaurant and the other five will be divided between each high school.

The event will be held April 19 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at participating restaurants.

Tickets will be sold the week prior by students from each of the schools and at participating restaurants.

The full list of restaurants and more details about the event can be found on the Bay Breakfast Facebook page.
