Man arrested during break and enter to home

Suspect discovered hiding in a bed

A 46-year-old man was found hiding in a bed and arrested during a reported break and enter Monday morning, city police report.

Saint John Police report officers were called to an apartment building in the 70-block of Wright Street just before 1 a.m. for a report of a residential break and enter.

“It was alleged that the suspect had gained access to the residence by breaking the knob off the front door,” police stated in a media release.

Officers arrived on scene and surrounded the location and a 46-year-old man was taken into custody after being discovered hiding in a bed under the blankets, police report.

“Details in relation to the break and enter are still under investigation,” police stated in the release. “However, the accused was charged with being at large while on a release order.”

The man was held in custody and scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
